Raymond Carmine Guarino, age 86, died Sunday, October 30, 2016, at his home in Pawlet.


Mr. Guarino was born in the Bronx, NYC, on July 18, 1930.

He received his early education in New York City schools. He furthered his education at the Warren Institute of Design and Drafting, the I.C.S. School for Electro-Mechanical Design. He worked mainly as a draftsman, designer and design engineer, specializing in printed circuit board design for military and commercial companies, including; Horizon Sensor Units for Rockets, The Hubble Telescope, Jet burn out prevention and cable interconnects for the military. An accomplished artist he created over 400 works of art, composed classical music and wrote short stories.


Surviving is his wife; Dolores Guarino of Pawlet; whom he married in Norwalk, CT on June 26, 1954, Lisa Smilansky, Mark Guarino & his wife Melody, Matthew Guarino and his wife Mary, Peter Guarino and Maria Hoaglund. 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren also survive him.


Honoring his wishes the funeral service will be private and at the convenience of the family.


Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in his memory to; Pawlet Public Library, 141 School St. Pawlet, VT 05761.


Arrangements are under the direction of the Mallory Funeral Home in Fair Haven.
