Harold Robert Nicklaw, age 82, died Sunday November 10, 2019, at Rutland Health & Rehabilitation Center.


Mr. Nicklaw was born in Leicester, on August 6, 1937. He was the son of Russell and Hazel (Tyler) Nicklaw. He grew up on the family farm in Leicester. He has been a Leicester resident all his life. He received his early education in Leicester Schools and graduated from Brandon High School, class of 1955. He began his working career at White Pigment in Florence. He joined the staff at Standard Register in 1966. He retired as a printer in May 1999, following 33 years of service. In his earlier years he enjoyed hunting. He was proud of having helped to build the new Leicester Church of The Nazarene. He loved spending time with his family and cutting his firewood. He belonged to the Leicester Church of The Nazarene.


Surviving is his wife: Joan (Fox) Nicklaw of Leicester; whom he married June 13, 1959, 2 sons; Curtis A. Nicklaw of Leicester and Lawrence “Larry” Nicklaw of Castleton, one daughter; Susan Marie Keith of Bristol and one brother; Frank William “Bill” Nicklaw of Leicester. 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews & cousins also survive him. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother; Richard Russell Nicklaw.


The memorial service “In Celebration of His Life” will take place on Saturday, November 16, 2019, at 11 AM, at the Leicester Church of The Nazarene. The Rev. Ed Elliott will officiate. A private burial will take place, at a later date in Brookside Cemetery in Leicester.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.
