Carol “Nan” Jerome, age 70, died Saturday, April 28, 2018, at Porter Medical Center in Middlebury.


Mrs. Jerome was born in Middlebury on September 23, 1947. She was the daughter of Nelson and Madeline (Trombley) Lowell. She grew up in Leicester where she received her early education and graduated from Otter Valley Union High School, class of 1965. Following graduation, she began working at the Brandon Training School for several years. She and her husband farmed in the Addison, Shoreham and Whiting Area until 1984, when they moved to Leicester. She returned to Brandon Training School and worked until they closed in 1993. She afterwards worked at Champlain Farms in Brandon and was a cashier at the old Grand Union and later for Hannaford’s, for several years. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and driving tractor, but her family was her life.


Surviving is her husband; Rodney D. Jerome of Leicester; whom she married June 10, 1967 in Addison; her son Bruce N. Jerome and his wife Dorothy of Leicester, 2 granddaughters; Kristyn and Kelli Jerome also of Leicester and her adopted grandsons; Brady Cook of Pittsford and Robert Cook of Brandon.


The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2018, at 10 AM, at the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon. Following the ceremony, the family will receive friends, at Brandon American Legion Post #55, for a time of remembrance.


Friends may call at the funeral home, on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from 6-8 PM.


Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in her memory to; American Cancer Society, 121 Connor Way, Ste. 240, P.O. Box 1460, Williston, VT 05495-1460.


Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.

I am truly sorry for your loss, please accept my sincere condolences. I hope the Jerome family find comfort and strength in Jesus promise along with our heavenly father Jehovah of the earthly resurrection, where death will be eliminated forever. Truly, what a glorious and unbelievable day that will be, for God cannot lie!
