EAST MIDDLEBURY:
Our dear mother Winifred Ann Ryan (Winnie), sadly, passed away on Saturday August 26, 2023, at the age of 81 in St. Petersburg, Florida. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her. She also, had many friends and was a well-loved member of the community in Middlebury.
Winnie was born in Grand Isle, Vermont on September 17, 1941. She was the daughter of Kenneth and Willielmina (Fadden) Poquette. She grew up in Grand Isle where she received her early education and graduated as Salutatorian, from Milton High School. Winnie worked at Middlebury College for 33 years, culminating as the Administrative Assistant to the Director of the Athletic Department. She moved to Florida in 2018 to be close to family. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Robert Ryan, brother William Poquette, sister Linda Salzbrenner and grandson Anthony Jarvis.
Winnie is survived by her 3 sons; Scott Jarvis, Rick Jarvis, and Timothy Jarvis. 2 daughters; Tamara Tindell and Michelle Sharron. 3 brothers; John Poquette, Robert Poquette, and Kenneth Poquette; 2 sisters; Annette Duckett and Rebecca Roy; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on, Friday, September 8, 2023, at 10 AM, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Middlebury. Rev. Luke Austin, pastor will be the celebrant. The graveside committal service and burial will follow the mass, in the family lot, at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
There will be a luncheon to follow at the American Legion Post 27, Boardman Street, Middlebury, VT
