BRANDON:
Sue Richards passed away February 6, 2025, at the age of 102. We lost a wonderful mom, grandmother, and friend to all who knew and loved her.
Sue was born September 14, 1922 in Proctor. She was the daughter of George and Bertha Kapitan. She attended Proctor High School and later married Edward Richards. In her earlier years she worked at Sawdi’s Steakhouse enjoying the socializing involved working with the public. Subsequently she worked at the Caverly Preventorium working with children, and then at the Brandon Training School, for 15 years before retiring. She loved berry picking and foraging for mushrooms and other wild edibles. She was a phenomenal baker. Her pies were outrageously delicious!
She will be deeply missed by her sister; Leah Kapitan, daughters; Donna (Ed) Durgin and Suzanne (Bob) Tinker, son; Bernie Richards, Ron Richards partner; Jeanne Meyer, grandchildren; Shawn Keith, Kelly Keith, Matt Richards, Kris Durgin, Jason Durgin, and great grandchildren; Catherine Winslow, Thomas Richards, Olivia Keith, Paloma Durgin and Rhys Curtiss-Durgin.
She was predeceased by her husband; Edward Richards, son Ronald Richards, grandson; Chris Richards and 8 siblings.
The family expresses special wishes to our cousins; Maggie and Bob Fish for their loving care, as well to the staff at The Pines. A celebration of her life will take place, at a later date.
Arrangements by Miller & Ketcham of Brandon.
