Richard Alan Collins

Richard A. Collins passed away peacefully at his home in Wells, VT surrounded by his family on Monday, September 11th at the age of 68.  He battled myelofibrosis, an uncommon type of bone marrow cancer.  Beloved husband of Maryann J. (Berardi) Collins of 43 years.  Loving father of Justin Collins and his wife Melissa of NH, Andrew Collins and his wife Brittany of MA.  Dear brother of Robert Collins, Beverly Fuccione, Valerie Andersen, David Collins and the late MaryLee Garrant and Steven Collins. Cherished Papa of Tyler and Makenna Collins.

Born in Malden, MA he was the son of the late Paul and Thelma (Clarke) Collins.  Growing up, Rich found enjoyment with motorcycles and all things horses, which continued into his adulthood. Rich had a passion for his walks in the woods "hunting", fishing and shooting.  Most family and friends can remember Rich with a camera in tow.  His love of photography was a big part of his personality.  He loved taking pictures of family, friends and especially scenic landscapes.  Rich will also be remembered for his humor.  He loved telling his favorite jokes to anyone who would listen.

He truly enjoyed watching his grandkids grow and flourish.  He loved watching Tyler play soccer and Makenna compete in gymnastics.

Rich will be missed and remembered by many.  At his wishes, there will not be any formal services.  Donations in his memory can be made to The Dana-Farber Cancer Insitute, The Foley Cancer Center at Rutland Regional Medical Center or VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region of VT.
