BRANDON:
Michael Edward Torrey, age 74, passed peacefully; following a short illness; on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Rutland Regional Medical Center.
Mike was born in Burlington on February 28, 1952. He was the son of Raymond and Ramona (Murray) Torrey. He grew up on the family farm in Addison and graduated from Vergennes Union High School, class of 1970. Mike spent his life time as a Dairy Farmer. He had worked on and then operated the family dairy farm, for more than 45 years. He has been a resident of Brandon since 2018. In his earlier years he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding four wheelers, dune buggies, and snowmobiles. He was also known as Mr. Fix It, because his farming years had taught him to be self-sufficient, to fix almost anything.
He is survived by his daughter; Wendy and her husband Patrick Clark of Brandon, their children, Emma Rose and Benjamin Michael, his daughters Stacey Snay and Stacey Torrey, his sons David Torrey and Dana Torrey; and special friends, Justin Hutchins, Rick Devoid, Nate Palmer and his many friends from his apartment community and finally, his beloved dog Mylo.
Respecting his wishes all funeral services will be private.
Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in his memory to; Brandon Area Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 232, Brandon, VT 05733.
Arrangements by Miller & Ketcham of Brandon.
