Melissa Mary Theresa Brown

Melissa Mary Theresa Brown, 69 passed away March 28, 2026 at Rutland Regional Medical Center.  She was born in Glens Falls, NY, May 28, 1956 the daughter of Joseph Gilbert Earl Brown and Norma Mary Theresa (Mingo) Brown. Melissa had resided in Whitehall since 2021 moving here from Fort Ticonderoga.  She grew up in Fair Haven and graduated from Fair Haven Union High School class of 1974. On Nov. 18, 1974 Melissa Joined the United States Army where she served as a field medic until her honorable discharge in 1980. Melissa worked as an O.R. Tech in Omaha, Nebraska for 35 years until she developed cancer and moved back east in 2015. She loved her family, work and pets.

She is survived by her twin brother, Michael Brown of Brandon and David Brown of Castleton and her sister Jackie Bissette of Ft. Ticonderoga, NY.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at the First Baptist Church, Whitehall, NY at 10 AM, friends may visit with the family from 9:30 until the time of the service.Officiating will be the Rev. Pamela Bolton and the Rev. Barry Dean.

Graveside Committal Services and burial with Military Honors will take place at a later date.
