Maureen Loretta McGuire

Shoreham; Maureen Loretta McGuire ,88 of Shoreham, Vermont. Passed away peacefully on February 20th 2025 at Helen Porter nursing home in Middlebury Vermont. 

Maureen was born on April 5, 1936 to Rose (Walsh) and William j Dahms Sr in Queens, New York. 

In year 1954 she met Philip A Flaherty and married.  They went on to have 4 children, Maureen H. DiBrenza, Philip A. Flaherty Jr, William R. Flaherty and Judeann L. Cerniglia. 

In 1978 they moved to Orwell, Vermont. They divorced in '83. Maureen married Michael Joseph McGuire on April 11, 1986. 

Maureen was predeceased by her parents William and Rose Dahms, her sister Eileen T. Blau and brother William J Dahms Jr. 

Maureen is survived by her children Maureen H. DiBrenza ( Flaherty) and her husband Michael of Owego, NY. Philip A. Flaherty Jr and wife Nancy of North Carolina. William R. Flaherty ( passed away 2023) and wife Michelle of Pennsylvania. Judeann L. Cerniglia ( Flaherty) and her partner Michael A. Benedetto of Connecticut. Lisa Moore and husband David of New Jersey. Jason Dotter of Shoreham, Vermont. Helen McGuire of Shoreham, Vermont. 

Maureen also had grand children and great grand children Rose Marie, Farrah, Micheal, Philip, Mathew, Michaela, Allison, David, Charlotte, Luna, little Mike, Leland and Avalon. 

Maureen had a passion for dogs and horses. She loved them, all shapes and sizes. She was a licensed nurse's assistant and enjoyed working at Helen Porter Nursing home when it first opened years ago. She also worked at Killington Ski Resort and Douglas's Orchard. She had a colorful life, made so many friends, touched so many lives and left wonderful memories. You will be missed mom, watch over us. Xoxoxo 

We will be having a celebration of life later in the year.
