Mary Helen Proulx

Mary Helen Proulx, age 85, passed peacefully, with family by her side, on July 8, 2025, at Mountain View Nursing Home.

Mary was born in Brandon on December 11, 1939. She was the daughter of Neil and Chloie (Moore) Blackmer. She grew up in Brandon where she received her education. June 27, 1961, she married Paul Proulx, of Ludlow, VT. They made their home in Rutland where they raised their twin daughters; both social workers at Dartmouth Hitchcock and the VA Hospital. Mary had worked at Tambrands for over 30 years, retiring in 1996. She was an avid baker and a certified Cake Decorator. She loved all furry friends, rescuing many throughout the years.

She is survived by her daughters; Pamela Proulx of Killington and Patricia Proulx of Quechee. Many nieces, nephews & cousins also survive her. She was predeceased by four brothers; George, Neil, Earl, and John Blackmer and four sisters; Helen Aines, Ruth Stevens, Glendean Gould, and Cassie Hesse.

The Memorial Service “In Celebration of Her Life” will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Trinity Episcopal Church in Rutland. Rev. Sarah Ginolfi, Rector will officiate. A private graveside committal service and burial will take place, at a later date, at the family lot, in Pine Hill Cemetery in Brandon.

Friends may pay their respects to the family on Friday, July 11, 2025 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM At the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home, 26 Franklin Street, Brandon, VT.
