Marvel Betourney Herriman, age 92, passed peacefully on June 11, 2026.
Marvel was born in Cornwall on September 29, 1933. She was the daughter of Albert and Eva (Wilcox) Betourney. She grew up in Shoreham & Salisbury where she received her early education and graduated from Middlebury High School, class of 1952. In earlier years she was active in 4-H clubs and was a member of the honor society. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and dancing. She belonged to Salt & Pepper Ladies making quilts for the Ronald McDonald’s House.
She is survived by 3 sons; Donald Herriman of Strawberry Plains, TN, John Herriman of Leicester and Dan Herriman of Middlebury, 4 daughters; Shelley Robison of N.C., Valli Audy of Starksboro, Mary Herriman of Brandon and Regina Merrill of Starksboro, 2 brothers Reginald Betourney and Ronald Betourney of N.C, 2 sisters; Shirley Shackett of Leicester and Jeannette Goe of Monroe, NC. 22 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews & cousins also survive her. She was predeceased by her husband Arden Malcolm Herriman, Jr, on May 23, 2002.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on June 24, 2026, at 11 AM, at Our Lady of Good Help (St. Mary’s) Catholic Church in Brandon. Rev. Albert “Skip” Baltz will be the celebrant.
Following the ceremony the family will receive friends at Brandon American Legion, for a time of remembrance.
