PITTSFORD:
Leslie Ward Johnson, age 67, passed peacefully April 15, 2026 at his home in Pittsford.
Leslie was born in Proctor on June 7, 1958. He was the son of Maurice and Alice (Stone) Johnson. He grew up in Brandon where he received his early education and attended otter Valley Union High School. He afterwards joined the Vermont Army National Guard. Following his discharge, he began his working career as a flagger for A.D.T, and later as a flagger for the State of Vermont Highway Department. He had also driven taxi for Mike’s Cab in Rutland. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing and singing.
He is survived by his partner in life; Ruth Muha, and a sister; Catherine Johnson. He was predeceased by his parents, a sister; Mary Alice Johnson and 2 brothers, Charles and Joseph Johnson.
A gathering "In Celebration of His Life" will take place on May 16, 2026 from 1-5 PM, at the Brandon American Legion Post #55.
A private graveside committal service and burial will take place, at a later date in Forest Dale Cemetery.
