BRANDON
Karen Louise Campbell age 84, wife of the late William J Campbell passed away July 26, 2024, at Mountain View Center in Rutland.
Karen was born in Brooklyn, NY, on October 19, 1939. She was the daughter of the late Ruth and Joseph H. Johnston. She grew up in Brooklyn where she received her education. This is where she met and married William J. Campbell on May 23 1959. Karen worked for the Wall Street Journal before leaving the workforce to become a stay-at-home mom. She was a dedicated mother who put her children first and created so many fond memories with them. After raising her children she went to work for Killington Ski resort in 1984 as a housekeeping Supervisor before retiring in 2001.
She was predeceased by her husband William in April, 2002 in addition to her husband she was also predeceased by a brother Martin Johnston and her sister June Hand
She is survived by her beloved dog Finn, her daughter Susan Danforth (Brian)of Brandon, 3 sons; Michael Campbell (Peggie)of Lynn Haven, FL, John Campbell (Sue) of Aransas Pass, TX, and William Campbell (Anne) of Milton. 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews & cousins also survive her.
The graveside committal service and burial will take place, at a later date, at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Brandon.
