Jessie Katherine (Johnson) Carleton

Jessie Katherine Carleton, age100, passed away Wednesday December 21, 2022 at Granville Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Granville, NY. 

Jessie was born in Springfield, VT January 10, 1922 the daughter of Frank and Matilda (Moses) Johnson.  Jessie was married to Maurice Carleton, he predeceased her in 1983. She was a homemaker and worked as a housekeeper in private homes. She also cared for her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. She loved looking for 4 Leaf Clovers.

Jessie is survived by her daughter Bonnie Blair of Cleburne, TX, granddaughter; Barbara (Bushey) Corliss of Proctor, Grandson, Ronald “Berger” Bushey and son-in-law; Ron Jones both of Clarendon Springs.  Also surviving are numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She is also predeceased by 2 sons, Edward, and Kenneth Carleton, 2 daughters, Ola M. Jones and Shirley Ongerth. Jessie was the last survivor of her 16 siblings. Mike and Jet lived and raised their family in Proctor.

Private graveside committal services and burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery, in Proctor at a later date.

Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the Foley Cancer Clinic, 160 Allen St. Rutland, VT.
