BRANDON: James Kermit Delfenthal, age 64, passed peacefully; following a long illness; on May 23, 2026, at Rutland Regional Medical Center.
Kermit was born in Newport News, Virginia on April 17, 1962. He was the son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Crow) Delfenthal. He grew up in Smithfield, VA where he received his early education. There he began his working career as a roofer. He later entered the Heating & Plumbing business. He came to Fair Haven in 2004 and worked as a roofer for various area contractors. He later worked in maintenance at Metro Mail in Rutland. Following a short time with OMYA, he was forced to retire due to a disability, in 2021. He enjoyed playing pool, doing puzzles and fishing.
He is survived by his Partner-in-life, of more than 20 years; Carrina Oberg, one son; Jacob K. Delfenthal, two daughters; Krystal Delfenthal and Katelyn Delfenthal, a brother; Bruce Delfenthal and one sister; Sharon Williams. Two grandchildren; Aaron and Alexander, several nieces, nephews & cousins also survive him. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother Joseph and a sister JoBeth.
A gathering “In Celebration of His Life” will take place, on June 27, 2026, at 2 PM, at 65 Jones Road, Salisbury, VT. Please come to hang out, eat some food and share remembrance’s and tell funny stories. Please bring a dish if you would like.
