Edward Samuel Holtrop, age 69, passed away Friday evening, March 6, 2026, at the University of Vermont Medical Center.
Ed was born in Chicago, IL on June 27, 1956. He was the son of Edward and Marlene Holtrop. He grew up in Chicago where he received his education. He began his working career as an auto mechanic. He furthered his education at the Southern Illinois University where he earned his Batchelors Degree in Criminal Justice. He moved to Nashville where he worked as a Probation and Parole Officer for the State of Tennessee. November 22, 2001, he married Lucinda Sears in Johnson City, TN. They moved to Springfield, VT in 2005 when he took a position as Case Manager at the Vermont Southern Correctional Facility. He retired in 2018 and moved to Brandon in 2021. He enjoyed fishing and was a NASCAR fan.
He is survived by his wife; Lucinda Holtrop, 2 daughters; Hailey Timmons and Jordyn Holtrop, a step-son; Roy Lockwood, Jr, and his wife Lisa, one brother; Matthew Holtrop. A grandson; Samual Lockwood and several cousins.
Respecting his wishes all funeral services will be private.
