ROCHESTER:
Deanna Marie Campbell, age 80, wife, mother, and loyal friend to everyone, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at her home in Rochester.
Deanna was born in Jersey City, NJ. She was the daughter of Henry & Rose (Pizzuto) Gioia. She grew up in Jersey City (NJ) where she received her education. She graduated from Holy Name School of Nursing in Teaneck, NJ. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Seton Hall University and her Masters from Rutgers University. She lived in South Brunswick, NJ for over 30 years, raising her family and working as a nurse practitioner. She and her husband retired to one of her favorite places, Vermont, in 2005. She has spent the past 17 years enjoying gardening, skiing, painting, playing tennis, birdwatching, and hiking. She was a lover of a good book, coffee, and a glass of wine. But her true passion was her family, grandchildren, and friends. There is nothing she loved more than spending time with her family up in Vermont, at the beach, or on a family vacation.
She is survived by her husband; Francis “Frank” Campbell of Rochester; whom she married March 8, 1969, in All Saints Church in Jersey City (NJ), two daughters; Sharon A. Suplee of Marlton, NJ and Leigh Brewster of Monroe, CT, her brother; Henry Gioia of Laguna Beach, CA, and the joy of her life, her three grandchildren; Abbey Brewster, Will Brewster and Graham Suplee.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 1 PM, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Rochester. Rev. Maurice Moreau, pastor of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brandon will be the celebrant. A reception will be held at a later date for her loved ones in New Jersey.
Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in her memory to The Yellowhouse Community, (http://yellowhousecommunity.com)
