Cory Michael Munnett

Cory Michael Munnett, age 45, died Sunday, May 28, 2023, in Brandon, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Cory was born in Rutland on October 5, 1977. He was the son of Martha (Dumas) Munnett. He grew up in Whiting where he received his early education and graduated from Otter Valley Union High School, class of 1995. Following graduation, he attended Diesel Mechanic School in Connecticut. He returned to Vermont and began working at Specialty Filament in East Middlebury. He later worked as a mechanic for Brandon Motors for several years. He joined the staff at Brandon Auto South in Pittsford, where he was known as ”Cory The Camper Guy”. He more recently drove truck for Boondock Wrecker Service.

He is survived by his mother; Martha Ann Munnett of Brandon, 2 daughters; Morgan Munnett of Middlebury and Sarah Munnett of Plattsburgh, NY, his brother; Ryan Munnett & his wife Dora of Proctor, a grandson; Kallum Shores and a niece; Rachael Munnett. Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive him.

A gathering “In Celebration of His Life” will take place on June 9, 2023 from 12 until 3 PM, at Brandon American Legion Post #55. A private graveside committal service and burial will take place, at a later date, in the family lot, at Hillside Cemetery in Castleton.
