POULTNEY VERMONT
Carol Ingrid Ciejko, age 81, passed peacefully with family by her side on Friday, December 29, 2023, at Rutland Regional Medical Center.
Carol was born in Milwaukee, WI, on January 9, 1942. She was the daughter of Arthur and Inga (Halverson) Dzioba. She grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she received her education and later attended the University of Wisconsin. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a resident of Poultney since 1964 moving here from Norfolk, VA. She was an active member of the community over the years participating in organizations such as the Catholic Daughters, Young at Heart Senior Citizens, in Poultney American Legion Unit 39 Ladies Auxiliary, Red Hat Society, Poultney High School Board Member, and Girl Scout Leader.
Surviving is her husband; Anthony Ciejko of Poultney, VT; whom she married in Norfolk, VA on March 23, 1963; two sons; Michael (Holly) Ciejko of Castleton, VT and William Ciejko of Chippenhook, VT, three daughters; Kari Williams of Chippenhook, VT, Anne Kaiser of Turlock, CA and Joan (Bruce) Leech of Chicago, IL, one brother; Daniel (Elizabeth) Dzioba of Pewaukee, WI, 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many cherished friends and family.
The graveside committal service will take place at St. Raphael Cemetery in Poultney, VT on June 1, 2024 at 11 AM. Following the service the family will receive friends at Fair Haven American Legion Post #49, for a “Celebration of Life”.
In lieu of flowers, monetary donations to the church flower fund in Carol Ciejko’s memory to St. Raphael Catholic Church, 21 East Main Street, Poultney, VT 05764.
The family would like to extend personal, heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Meadows at East Mountain and Rutland Regional Medical Center for their love and care.
