BRANDON:
Brian James Bailey, age 46, passed away unexpectedly on May 24, 2025, at his home in Brandon, Vermont.
Brian was born on June 28, 1978, in Middlebury, the son of Norman Bailey Jr. and Eunenie (Wilcox) Bailey. He spent his early years in Shoreham, where he received his education and graduated from Middlebury Union High School with the Class of 1996.
Brian began his working life at Cabot Cheese in Middlebury before discovering his passion for woodworking. He went on to pursue a career as a carpenter, where his dedication, skill, and generosity became well-known throughout the community. Always up for a challenge, Brian was the kind of man neighbors could count on—whether for a home repair or a kind word.
A devoted father, Brian found joy in the simple things: sharing breakfast with his children at Rosie’s, or hunting and fishing with his father and friends. He cherished time with family and lived a life grounded in love, hard work, and kindness. He especially loved being outside in the warmer months, though his greatest joys remained woodworking and time spent with those he loved.
Brian will be remembered for his steadfast reliability, warm heart, and the legacy of kindness he leaves behind in the lives he touched.
He is survived by his eldest daughter, Isabella Daignault-Bailey (Bella Bailey) of Salisbury, and his son, Trevor English of Brandon. He also leaves behind his two sisters, Dawn Thompson of Brandon and Tamara Bailey of Orwell, as well as his father, Norman Bailey Jr. of Brandon. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also mourn his loss. He was just predeceased by his mother; Eunenie Bailey on May 17, 2025.
A public gathering in celebration of Brian’s life will be held on June 21, 2025, from 1-4 PM at:
555 Maiden Ln, Ripton, VT 05766-8809, United States
This will be a potluck-style gathering. If you plan to attend, please reach out to the family in advance.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to Bar Harbor Bank in Brandon, made out to “Bella Bailey” in memory of Brian Bailey, for the benefit of both of his children.
Arrangements by Miller & Ketcham of Brandon.
