Orwell
Arthur Joseph Bell, 69 passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2025, surrounded by his family at his home in Orwell. He was born is Southington, CT June 13, 1955 the son of Edward V. and Helen (Burke) Bell.
At the age of 16 he and his family moved to Vermont where he spent the rest of his life. Art worked at various jobs in the area including construction and carpentry, local dairy farms, snow plowing and other odd jobs.
He was an active member of the Orwell Volunteer Fire Department for 18 years. He also taught Line Dancing.
Art is survived by his wife Irene of Orwell; His son, Edward Bell of Orwell, His 3 Step-Sons, Michael (Stacy) Lee of Pittsford, Mark (Renee) Lee of Brandon Craig ( Shauna) lee of Brandon; 1 daughter, Melissa (Shawn) Smith of Brandon; 2 sisters, Elizabeth Walker of Orwell and Mary Kacillas of Southington, CT. also surviving are his grandchildren, Cloey Bell, Bella Smith, Morgan, Kristen, Courtney Julia and Anna Lee and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Art is also survived by his longtime friend, Craig Hanson.
The graveside committal service and burial will take place on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 11 AM in the Mountain View Cemetery, Orwell., following the committal service A celebration of his life will be held at 12:00 Noon at the Town of Orwell Fire Department .
