SALISBURY:
Anthony “Tony” Gale, age 65, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2024 at the University of Vermont Medical Center.
Tony was born in Proctor, on April 17, 1959. He was the son of Richard and Joyce (Foster) Gale. He grew up in Salisbury where he received his early education and graduated from Middlebury Union High School. Following graduation, he joined the United States Army and served for 3 years until receiving a medical discharge. He returned home and began a career as a truck driver at Carrara’s and afterwards for Shelburne Limestone Corporation for more than 10 years, until a stroke forced his retirement. He had enjoyed hunting and fishing, and still held the state record, for the largest Large Mouth Bass which he caught in 1988; 10 lbs. 4 oz. He was an avid Red Sox Fan and liked the New York Giants.
He is survived by his brother; David Gale and his wife, Lori; who were his care providers for over 18 years; of Salisbury, one sister; Kimberley Lafave of Brandon, 3 step-children; Heather, Zakk, and Kristy. 4 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews & cousins also survive him. He was predeceased by his parents.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024, at 2 PM, at the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon. The graveside committal service and burial, with Military Honors; will follow, in the family lot, at Holman Cemetery in Salisbury.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 6-8 PM.
