Ann Rebecca Gipson, age 84, died Monday, September 11, 2017 in Middlebury.

Ann was born in Middlebury on September 7, 1933, the daughter of Edward and Marjorie (Tarble) Gipson.  She received her early education in Middlebury, attended Brandon High School in Brandon for 3 years and graduated in 1951 from Middlebury High School.  She studied to become a laboratory technician at Boston School of Technology in Boston and held employment as a medical professional at Children’s Hospital in Boston, Springfield Hospital in Springfield, VT and at Helen Porter Nursing Home in Middlebury.  She was a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Middlebury, Middlebury High School-Middlebury Union High School Association and RSVP.  She had done volunteer work for Round Robin, American Cancer Society, the American Red Cross, mittens for Christmas Shop and Hats for Newborns.  She had served as an assistant election official in Middlebury since 1992.

Ann’s hobby’s included reading, knitting and her volunteer work.

Survivors include her nephews; David Gipson and his wife Luella of Bridport and John Gipson and his wife Carolyn of Burlington and her nieces and nephew; Chantel, Lea, Jessica, Christopher and Lauren. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother; Edward “Pete” Gipson.

The graveside committal service and burial will take place, on Saturday, September 30, 2017, at 12 noon, at Pine Hill Cemetery in Brandon.
