Gregory Gerald Bianchi, age 59, passed peacefully February 14, 2021, while ice fishing, on Lake Champlain in Shoreham.

 

Greg was born in Rutland October 31, 1961. He was the son of Gerald and Mary (Todriff) Bianchi. He grew up in Rutland where he received his early education and graduated from Rutland High School, class 1979. Greg began his working years as a chef at various are Rutland restaurants. He later drove truck for Frito-Lay.  He had also worked as a mechanic for Ray Nutting Automotive Sales. He had been employed by Pidgeon’s Auto Salvage in Leicester, which stared his interest in auto tires. He came into his own when he opened Greg’s Tire in Brandon in 2016. He enjoyed the demolition derby’s, fishing and going to the casino.

 

He is survived by his son; Kyle A. Bianchi of North Clarendon, his father; Gerald Bianchi of Pittsford, 1 brother; John Bianchi of Rutland and 2 sisters; Cheryl Patch of Montana and Alisa Bianchi of Minnesota and his partner-in-life; Cheryl Tafoya of Pittsford. 2 granddaughter and several nieces, nephews & cousins also survive him. He was predeceased by his mother.

 

A gathering “In Celebration of His Life” will take place on Thursday, February 25, 2021, at 11 AM, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brandon. The Rev. Maurice Moreau, pastor will be the celebrant. Friends may pay their respects to the family, at the church, from 10:30 AM until the time of the service, at 11 AM. Please wear a face covering.

 

Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in his memory to; Vermont Fish & Wildlife, Let’s Go Fishing Program for kids, 1 National Life Drive, Montpelier, VT 05620.

 

Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.
