Roberta Howard Kimball, age 93, passed away Monday, January 20, 2020, at Wintergreen North Residential Care in Brandon.


Mrs. Kimball was born in Fitchburg, MA on November 9, 1926. She was the daughter of Howard and Annie (Pine) Whitcomb. She grew up in Lunenburg, MA where she received her education. She graduated from Lunenburg High School, class of 1944, where she was a star basketball player. She was inducted into the Lunenburg High School Hall of Fame. She furthered her education in Worcester, MA Secretarial School. July 15, 1950, she married Dexter Chandler Kimball in Lunenburg. They moved with their family to Brandon in 1964. There she and her husband ran the family farm, until their retirement in 1978. Mr. Kimball predeceased her July 3, 2008. After selling the farm she continued working at Brandon Training School and had also worked as a prep cook and pastry chef at Rosie’s Restaurant in Middlebury. She was an avid reader who had volunteered at the Brandon Library. She belonged to the Brandon Congregational Church.


Surviving is two daughters; Deborah Roberts of Clarendon and Katrina Fielder of Whiting, 3 sons; Jeffrey Kimball of Murrell’s Inlet, SC, Roger Kimball of Rutland and Dexter Wayne Kimball of Amenia, NY. 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews & cousins also survive her, and a special niece; Pam Najarian of Hopedale, MA.


The memorial service ‘In Celebration of Her Life” will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020, at 11 AM, at the Brandon Congregational Church. The Rev. William Bartholomew, pastor will officiate. Following the ceremony, the family will receive friends, in the church hall, for a time of remembrance.


Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in her memory to; Brandon Free Public Library, 4 Franklin Street, Brandon, VT 05733.


Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.
