Mrs. Karen Louise St. Denis Peirce, 62, of Morganton, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Burke Hospice & Palliative Care, following a period of declining health.

Karen was born on June 13, 1957 in Middlebury, VT to the late Harry St. Denis and Ruth Barton Cram.  She was formerly employed as a CNA in the home health care industry.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Jeanine Lowe and Michele St. Denis.

Survivors include her husband, George Alfonzo Peirce III of the home; her children, Kristie Supernor and husband Jesse of Morganton, Nicole Cook and husband Curtis of Morganton, Michelle Perry and husband Bradley of Lenoir, and George A. Peirce IV and wife Stella of Morganton; one brother, Michael St. Denis and one sister, Diane Thomas.  Also surviving are seven grandchildren; Page Webb, Jacob Supernor, Christiana Peirce, Nathan Supernor, Tyler Cook, McKenna Perry and Alzira Peirce, with one more on the way, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 6, 2019 at 5:00 P.M.  in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service with Rev. Jeff Boone officiating.  Interment will follow at a later date in Brandon, VT.

The family will receive friends on Friday, from 4:00 until 5:00 P.M. at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese, NC.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Autumn Care Nursing Home, the ER Staff of Grace Hospital, Burke EMS, and Burke Hospice, for their combined care of their mother, and their support for the family.

Local arrangements are under the direction of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.

Sending my condolences to Karen's entire family at this time. I grew up in the same neighborhood with Karen. She was part of our close-knit group of friends. She'll be missed, but not forgotten.
