Daniel Leo Olsen, age 49, died Sunday, July 7, 2019, at his home in Brandon.

 

Mr. Olsen was born in Plainfield, NJ on January 8, 1970. He was the son of Edward and Marie (Hellmann) Olsen. He came to Brandon with his family in 1974. He grew up here where he received his early education. He graduated from Otter Valley Union High School, class of 1988. Following graduation, he had worked as a Lift Mechanic and Snow Maker at Pico Ski Area for over 20 years. Following Tropical Storm Irene, he left Pico and did carpentry work for a family in Goshen. He later worked a Mae’s Restaurant in Brandon for several years. He enjoyed carpentry and woodworking and was an avid reader.

 

Surviving is his mother; Marie L. Bradbury of Brandon; with whom he had made his home, a daughter; Elizabeth Ann Olsen of Killington; presently attending Berkeley College in New York City, 4 brothers; Thomas P. Olsen of Seattle, WA, Mark D. Olsen of Lebanon, TN, Edward R. Olsen of Proctor and James Olsen of Brandon. 2 nieces, a nephew & several cousin also survive him. He was predeceased by his father.

 

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019, at 10 AM, at the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon. The graveside committal service and burial will follow the ceremony in the family lot, at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Brandon.

 

Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in his memory to; Brandon Area Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 232, Brandon, VT 05733.

 

Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.
