Paul Leo Hogan, age 66, of Brandon, VT died unexpectedly on Friday, February 2, 2018, at Rutland Regional Medical Center.

Paul was born in Boston, MA on March 5, 1951. He was the son of Paul Hogan Sr. and Anna (Nickerson) Hogan. He grew up in Canton, MA where he received his early education at St John’s Parochial School. He graduated from Catholic Memorial High School, class of 1969. He attended St. Michael’s College where he played Varsity hockey as a freshman. He began working for New England Telephone as a lineman.  After moving to Vermont in 1980, Paul continued as a lineman, and later changed to Equipment Installation.  He retired in 2008, after a total of 34 years of service.  He coached youth hockey at RAHA for many years, and subsequently was the assistant hockey coach at Mount Saint Joseph Academy from 1992 until 1997. Paul also played on a men’s adult hockey league. He was an avid golfer and lifetime member of the Neshobe Golf Club, where he also worked for the past several years. He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Susan K. (Regan) Hogan of Brandon, 2 daughters: Marie C. Waterworth and her husband Eric of Fairfax; Laura A. Shea and her husband Brian of Huntington; and his son, Michael P. Hogan and his wife Melissa of Auburn, NH; his brother, Richard W. Hogan and his wife Susan A. of Kingston, MA; and his sister, Janice M. Shea and her husband Kevin, of Ipswich, MA; 6 grandchildren: Sean Waterworth; Teagan and Kyran Shea; Brandon, Ashley and Gabrielle Hogan. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive him. He was predeceased by his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 10, 2018, at 11 AM, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brandon. Following the Mass, the family will receive friends at the Neshobe Golf Club, for a time of remembrance and celebration of Paul’s life. The graveside committal service and burial will take place, at a later date, at Pine Hill Cemetery in Brandon, VT.

Friends may call at the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon on Friday, February 9, from 4-7 PM.

Susan - Sorry to hear about Paul Leo. I always looked forward to playing hockey and basketball with Paul growing up on Birchcroft Rd and jumping the fence to golf at Blue Hills CC.
